Hillsborough Historic District, NC, 2017

 

Complete renovation of, and 840sf contemporary addition to, 1910 Arts and Crafts bungalow. In addition to fulfilling the functional requirements associated with growing older in place, the new footprint was intended to provide a clear delineation between the architectural past and present. The dramatic, urban site provided usable space under the addition for cars and outdoor sitting, while allowing for single-floor living above.
