Petropolous

Raleigh, NC, 2015

Major renovation of, and 700sf contemporary addition to, 1960 traditional style house. A dramatic contrast between the original "Southern Colonial" formality and a modern, flexible and transparent addition was desired to reflect the newer generation's lifestyle, while honoring their ancestors' vision for the original house. Connection to the exterior was a requirement and was achieved through such elements as the folding glass walls. Second-floor terrace, water catchment, and pond.
