To take advantage of the sweeping views of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River Valley, the house is linear and the main living spaces are arranged to take best advantage of the views. There are two predominant forms: the boxes, which contain the main living spaces, and the wedge, its shape reflecting what it contains: the garage at ground level, a mezzanine study at the mid-level and the master suite at the highest, most private level. The south-facing roof form continues upward to provide for the photovoltaic array.
